In accordance with the directives of the Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and under the guidance of the Assistant Commissioner of the G/South Division, a special “in-depth cleanliness” campaign was successfully conducted in the vicinity of Lower Parel railway station.
This targeted initiative aimed to significantly improve the local sanitation standards, clear public pathways, and ensure a cleaner environment for the thousands of commuters and residents who navigate this high-traffic commercial hub daily. During the extensive drive, municipal workforce teams deployed specialized equipment to deep-clean public roads, eliminate chronic garbage vulnerable points, and sanitize public areas surrounding the station premises.
This campaign is part of the civic body’s ongoing commitment to upgrading urban hygiene across Mumbai, with G/South Division officials actively monitoring the progress to maintain long-term sustainability and public health compliance in the area.
Likewise this cleanliness drive should be conducted in all the western suburbs. Vendors at pedestrian paths should be barred as it is becoming difficult for people particularly the senior citizens and children .
