Veteran actor and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mithun Chakraborty was admitted to a private healthcare facility in Kolkata where he successfully underwent a minor surgical procedure. The operation, conducted on Thursday evening, was intentionally kept private as the 76-year-old iconic star preferred to avoid public attention regarding his health development.
According to medical sources, the surgery was performed to remove an old metal plate that had been earlier implanted following a past hand injury.West Bengal Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari visited the actor at the hospital to check on his health status. He later interacted with the medical team overseeing the treatment and shared an optimistic health update alongside hospital photographs on his social media accounts.
Reassuring concerned fans, political colleagues, and well-wishers, leaders stated that the National Award-winning cinema icon is currently in stable condition, resting comfortably, and is expected to be discharged shortly.
