Standing before you today, I am struck by a heartbreaking reality—this is the very first time you have left us without saying goodbye.
Throughout my life, you have been my constant guiding light. Whenever I felt lost during difficult times, your silent, unwavering support gave me strength. Your silence always spoke a thousand words. Even though you were my senior in the industry, you were, above all, a true and deeply cherished friend.
I will forever treasure the beautiful moments we shared, listening endlessly to your incredible stories. You spoke with such passion about your early days assisting the legendary Raj Kapoor ji, your journey to becoming a highly successful director, and the immense pride in your eyes when discussing the success of your former assistant, Rohit Shetty.
When the rest of the world felt distant, you were always there. Life will truly never be the same without you.
While the world knew you as a brilliant, visionary filmmaker, I knew you as a generous, large-hearted human being. Your warm embrace was my safe haven, offering comfort and courage without needing words. I know I will spend the rest of my days looking for you in the hallways, in the stories you loved, in the laughter you left behind, and in those quiet moments when I long to hear you call my name just one last time.
You left us too soon this time, Kuku ji. But your memory will live on forever in my heart and in the countless lives you touched so deeply.
My deepest, most heartfelt condolences go out to Aruna Irani ji and your wonderful daughters, Pooja and Karishma. May they find the strength to navigate this immense and irreplaceable loss.
Rest in peace, Kuku ji. You will never be forgotten.
