Amidst Statewide safety crackdown to safeguard public health and ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), spearheaded by Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe (IAS), conducted a targeted inspection of a Parle Agro-linked warehouse (Velocity Express facility) near Chembur Naka.
In the midst of rigorous overnight operation, inspection teams uncovered and confiscated expired inventory of popular consumer beverage brands
including Frooti, Appy Fizz, and other stock totaling ₹99,970 in retail value. Consequently, the regulatory authority has immediately suspended the facility’s operational license and sealed the premises to prevent any further distribution or movement of compromised stock.
The FDA emphasizes that this punitive action is localized to the inspected godown and addresses critical lapses in inventory management and storage compliance at this specific site. It does not constitute a generalized ban on the manufacturing, sale, or distribution of Parle Agro products across the state or nation.
The enforcement forms part of a broader, uncompromising statewide initiative targeting hygiene, handling, and regulatory violations across commercial warehouses, food service establishments, and quick-commerce supply chains.
