The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration FDA suspended the food license of Blinkit’s hub in Akola and took action against two Mumbai eateries, including Delhi Sweet and Bhelpuri House in Malad, following surprise inspections that found severe hygiene and safety violations.

The FDA suspended the center’s state food license because a re-inspection showed it failed to fix poor storage conditions and unsuitable racks flagged in an earlier notice.

Inspectors found food stored near dirty drains, the use of unfiltered tap water without testing reports, unlabelled paneer and lassi without expiry dates, and workers lacking medical certificates or handling food with unbandaged burns. The shop also packaged items like sweets and lassi despite only having a license for prepared foods.
