The Mumbai Police have arrested two men following an incident involving forced entry and the presentation of a suspicious identity card at the Jio World Plaza located in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
According to official statements, the incident occurred on Tuesday a day ahead of PM Modi’s visit on 9 September evening when three individuals allegedly used a suspicious government identity card to bypass security personnel and enter the premises. One of the suspects, identified as 24-year-old Rohan Parikh (also referred to in reports as Rohan Parekh), allegedly claimed affiliation with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He was accompanied by a private security guard/bodyguard, identified as 49-year-old Dilip Kunde (an ex-Army serviceman), who was carrying a licensed firearm and cartridges. A third individual involved in the incident, Prathamesh Bagul, left the scene and remains sought by authorities.
An FIR has been filed at BKC PS under various BNS sections including impersonation of a public servant and unlawful entry armed with a weapon. Crime Branch is conducting further investigation. The weapon has been found to be licensed and two persons are arrested in this regard.
The arrested suspects were produced before a metropolitan magistrate’s court on Tuesday and have been remanded in police custody until September 11, 2026.
Authorities have formally clarified that the event is an isolated criminal matter. The Crime Branch is conducting further investigation.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch is continuing inquiries to determine the full motive and verify the documentation recovered at the scene.
