Authored over two millennia ago by the legendary poet-saint Thiruvalluvar, the Thirukkural is globally celebrated for its 1,330 concise couplets offering timeless, universal wisdom on ethics, righteous conduct, human values, and statecraft.
Published by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, this special 2026 edition featuresp the original Tamil verses alongside transliteration and a Russian translation by Naira Mkrtchyan.
This thoughtful diplomatic gesture highlights India’s rich literary heritage and underscores that the enduring India–Russia partnership extends far beyond strategic and economic cooperation, finding its deepest roots in shared philosophical values and mutual cultural respect.
