Acclaimed filmmaker Imtiaz Ali recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan on his 84th birthday on 11 October, declaring that there is absolutely none like him and there never will be in the history of cinema. Speaking to the media the director shared that he firmly categorises himself as a person who was born in the Amitabh Bachchan era in India, highlighting the unparalleled cultural legacy of the Legend whose career now spans over five decades.
Ali confessed that when he first entered the film industry, he assumed he would never get the opportunity to collaborate with the legend because Bachchan’s larger-than-life personality and towering stature felt far too intimidating to approach.
However, this perspective completely shifted after he had the good fortune of directing the veteran actor in a commercial project. Realising how wonderful it is to work with the cinema legend, Ali expressed his earnest hope to direct Bachchan in a full-length feature film someday, celebrating the superstar alongside the rest of the film industry.
