Trisha Krishnan shares her professional experience and on ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ 2
Having completed two decades in the entertainment industry, Trisha Krishnan’s found a new lease of life with veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
She essays the role of Princess Kundavai, a sharp, elegant, righteous and just. The actor’s already established fanbase outgrew further with everyone from Kollywood taking cognizance of her talent and her range.
At the recently held press meet in Mumbai, amid the promotions of the upcoming sequel of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which gears up for the 28 April theatrical release to release in cinemas on April 28, 2023, when she was quizzed by the media personnel on her experience of working with an ensemble cast in the period magnum opus, Trisha opened up that firstly, back home in Chennai, she hasn’t been a part of multi-starrers. The only time she gets an opportunity to meet everybody at one go, is probably is at an award function or at any event. She added that she doesn’t really meet that often otherwise this was like shooting with a whole bunch of talent everyday, for 130 days. The promotions are what brings us closer because on shoot sets, I will be a little stressed wondering whether my clothes and my hairdo was right and most importantly, whether I was delivering my dialogues okay.
Having starred in some of her career’s best films with ‘Ghilli’, ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’, ‘Mankatha’ and ’96’, Trisha hit a rough patch owing to some of her miscalculated choices of films. But, with the astounding love that she received for her performance as Princess Kundavai, the actress found a new lease of life and is all set to delivering more path-breaking work.
Another interesting incident happened at the press meet of
Ponniyin Selvan 2 in Mumbai in that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan touched guru Mani Ratnam’s feet.
Besides ‘PS2’, Trisha is currently shooting with Thalapathy Vijay for ‘Leo’, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Master’ and ‘Vikram’ fame. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt in a pivotal role. Apart this, she will also mark her digital foray in ‘Brinda’, an investigative thriller in Telugu, which co-stars Indrajith Sukumaran and will stream on Sony LIV.
