Speculations are afloat that
SRK’s ‘Jawan’ is inspired by Kamal Hassan produced film ‘Aakhree Raasta’, a tamil remake of Oru Kaidhiyin Diary
in which Amitabh Bachchan played a dual role.

Similarly, Jawan features Shah Rukh Khan in a double role of a father and son. A source reveals that Jawan is also a revenge story with the same conflict points

Atlee is a big fan of the Kamal Haasan original and has sourced the core part of the story from Oru Kaidhiyin Diary. “However it’s not a remake but an inspiration. Atlee has taken the core plot and has emerged with a new story for the present generation audience. While emotions remain the same, the treatment is very modern.
