BKC soon to get food mall with affordable meals MMRDA plans Food Court
It comes as good news for foodies as MMRDA plans to
open a food court in the Urban Plaza that will also have shops and supermarkets.
This will benefit hundreds of visitors, including employees working in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) who can look forward to an affordable place for meals.
Unlike other Central Business District of Mumbai like Nariman Point and even Andheri, BKC suffers from lack of affordable restauarants. This then prompts many to rely on food aggregator services which are costly.
The other option is to travel near Kala Nagar or Kurla but the distance is daunting for many. The other restaurants in BKC are more for fine dining and have an exotic menu that is extremely expensive.
The BKC has a number of multi-storied buildings accommodating corporate offices of India’s leading industrial and business houses as well as government offices. However, the area suffers from an acute scarcity of parking space, inadequacy of restaurants and eating places.
According to MMRDA Official,in order to prevent hawkers, the MMRDA has provided certain places for restaurants in buildings constructed in the BKC. The food court will come up in G block of BKC . This area lies at the junction of Bandra-Kurla Link Road (BKLR) and the Asian Hart Hospital. Such a development would help to keep the area lively after office hours and on weekends.
