Aanand L Rai, Bollywood’s renowned director, has made some major hit films like Tanu Weds Manu Returns featuring Kangana Ranaut and
R Madhavan, Raanjhanaa Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush.
However, he headlined when his film ‘Zero’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Tanu Weds Manu Returns featuring Kangana Ranaut, R Madhavan, Raanjhanaa, Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar proved a debacle at the box-office.
The filmmaker, who turns a year older today, opened up on the time and saying that with every decade, audience change.
Speaking to media personnel, Aanand Rai made it known that every decade, there’s a change of audience and taste. As a filmmaker, one faces these obstacles. Tanu Weds Manu Returns got everything right. The audience loved Dhanush as the protagonist in Raanjhanaa This is a sign of changing times.
Further elaborating on his films like ‘Zero’ and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ proving a debacle at the box office, the filmmaker added that he is a student and there will be times when thesis will not get everything right.
The only time his confidence can be broken is if he faltes in his intention.
He knows his intentions were right be it Zero, the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer or Raksha Bandhan, the “Raksha Bandhan”. He scored brilliantly with Tanu Weds Manu Returns. His intentions were the same for all the projects.
On the work front, Aanand L Rai will soon reunite with Dhanush for the third time in his upcoming directorial, Tere Ishq Mein. After Raanjhanaa, Dhanush and Aanand L Rai came together for Atrangi Re which also stars Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan.
