An interesting piece of news comes to the fore that
Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ to transform into Web Show and will feature Shanaya Kapoor. With this Shanaya
makes her OTT debut.
For those unversed, Karan Johar introduced 3 new faces with ‘Student Of The Year’ in 2012 with Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, and the trio made their Bollywood debuts with the film.
Few years later, Puneet Malhotra helmed ‘Student Of The Year 2’ featuring Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria.
It is believed that Karan will turn the film franchise into a web series partnership with Disney+ Hotstar. Whereas Shanaya, makes her debut with Mohanlal’s ‘Vrushabha’,
‘SOTY 3’ will be her debut in the OTT space.
Infact, Karan shares a close bond with Shanaya’s parents, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor.
He also gave a shout out to Shanaya Kapoor for her acting debut, and wrote that some
Journeys are perceived as privileged, some are also given the tag of lineage benefit and all of that is true but in Shanaya he sees her as a girl who dreamt of nothing but being a pure artist and facing the camera only when she had put in all that immense hard work and so much passion. This is such a brilliant opportunity for her to learn so much from the legendary Mohanlal, whom he who admires and respects so much.
