Akshay Kumar Shilpa Shetty Suniel Shetty Dhadkan sequel to roll?

Dharmesh Darshan who had helmed the Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Suniel Shetty starrer Dhadkan released in 2000 plans for its sequel.

Speaking to the media, Darshan revealed that a lot of people have repeatedly asked him when he would be back with a film.

As a matter of fact, People are missing the kind of work he has done and it makes him happy. Besides, the 1996, Raja Hindustani, the one film people particularly ask him about is Dhadkan and whether he will be going for its sequel.

The filmmaker added, that at this moment around, all that he could say is that yes, he was offered Dhadkan 2 by Ratan Jain, who’s also the producer of Dhadkan. For a decade, Ratan Jain has been offering him the film, but, he has been resisting as he wasn’t sure since he was apprised that Dhadkan is a classic and a film with a lot of soul. It has stood the test of time and that he doesn’t believe in encashing on it.

But now people have gone hammer and tongs and it is his guess after the monstrous success of Gadar 2. Hence, the film was offered yet again to him in the last 10-15 days.

Over the possibly of reuniting with the original cast in the sequel Darshan added that even for the first part, he wasn’t sure. It had an ‘off casting’ and Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty were action heroes then. Suniel hasn’t thought about the casting at all. He has 2-3 ideas with possibilities of interesting and different castings.

In Dhadkan Suniel Shetty and Shilpa Shetty played star-crossed lovers Anjali and Dev, who separated by Shetty’s father. He gets her forcibly married to Ram, played by Kumar. Anjali eventually falls in love with Ram, but their life faces turmoil when Dev returns to take revenge and win Anjali back. Dhadkan also had an extended cameo by Mahima Chaudhary. The Suniel Darshan directorial film was produced by Ratan Jain.
