Even as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially not confirmed whether Virat Kohli will miss the IND vs NED warm-up match, reports suggest that he will join his team mates in time for the Netherlands clash on October 2.

Meanwhile, a BCCI source from confirms that he returned to Mumbai for personal reasons, but, will rejoin the team soon. The rest of the squad arrived in the Kerala following a four-hour flight on Sunday evening.

Upon arrival in Thiruvathapuram (Trivavandrum),the Indian team encountered adverse weather conditions that had been persisting from the eastern to the southern regions. Their initial warm-up match against England, the defending champions, had to be canceled sans a single ball being bowled leading to concerns that the upcoming game might face a similar fate as was in Sri Lanka.

As per Accuweather, the weather forecast for October 3 in Thiruvananthapuram predicts a 97% chance of daytime rain and a 46% chance of rain.

However, there is a substantial 91% likelihood of night-time rain, with temperatures expected to be in the range of 25-30 degrees Celsius.

Following the warm-up match against the Netherlands, Team India will start their participation in the ODI World Cup with their first game against Australia on October 8.

It’s important to note that in a
three-match ODI series, India had recently vanquished over Australia with a 2-1 win
in a three-match ODI series on their home ground.
