The fierce battle between India and arch-rivals Pakistan blockbuster kicks-off at the largest Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14

With a seating capacity of well over one lakh, the fixture promises to be a grand spectacle and in a bid to make it even more grand, plans are afoot for a small ceremony
ahead of the toss.

It is learnt that there will be a musical ceremony in Ahmedabad before the match gets underway.

The match expects the presence of many celebrities and VIPs.

Popular Singer Arijit Singh will reportedly perform ahead of the match while superstars like Sachin Tendulkar, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan will also be in attendance.

As per information from a source, the ceremony will last for around 30 minutes and the tentative start time is 12:40 PM IST on Saturday.

The musical event and other festivities will conclude by 1:10 PM IST with a toss scheduled to be held 20 minutes later.

For the high-octane India-Pakistan World Cup cricket encounter, robust security measures are being implemented. Over 11,000 personnel from diverse units like Gujarat Police, NSG, RAF, and home guards will be on duty, ensuring safety and order, as shared by a top official on Monday.

The heightened security is a reaction to specific threats, though the city of Ahmedabad hasn’t experienced any communal disruptions during cricket games over the last two decades. To ensure further safety, forces will be positioned in several communally sensitive zones of the city, elaborated Ahmedabad’s Commissioner of Police, G S Malik.

It’s worthy of noting that every fan is eagerly awaiting the match between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has secured two consecutive victories in the tournament so far. They first defeated the Netherlands and then triumphed over Sri Lanka in a successful run chase.

On the other hand, India started with a win against Australia and will next face Afghanistan.

The Indian team has showcased splendid form, while the bowling weaknesses of the Pakistan team have been exposed. India is coming off a triumphant Asia Cup campaign, whereas Pakistan faced a crushing defeat in the same tournament. With this backdrop, it will be interesting to see which team emerges superior in front of the thousands of fans.
