It’s now learnt that the ‘voice of cricket’ Harsha Bhogle too has been diagnosed with dengue and set to miss the India vs Pakistan’s blockbuster action at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday October 14.
Harsha Bhogle, through his Instagram post informed on Thursday that he is down with a bout of dengue fever and sadly won’t be in the commentary box. for the World Cup 2023 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad on Saturday.He also thanked his co-commentators and the broadcast team for taking the extra workload after he withdrew the second innings of the India vs Australia match in Chennai, citing health concerns.
On his return to the commentators’ box, Bhogle added that he hopes to return to commentary duty for India’s match against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune.
He feels much disappointed for missing out on India vs Pak on the 14th.
Shubman Gill reached Ahmedabad yesterday fully masked and had an hour-long batting session on Thursday morning, even though his participation in India’s highly anticipated World Cup fixture against Pakistan on October 14 in Ahmedabad remains uncertain.
Gill, recovering from dengue, reached Narendra Modi Stadium around 11.30 a.m.
While it was a closed-door training session overseen by the BCCI’s medical team, Gill engaged in some preliminary stretching before hitting the nets. Nevertheless, sources suggest that the team management is inclined to exercise patience regarding Gill’s readiness for Saturday’s high-profile match.
