IndiGo Passenger spots screw in sandwich on Bengaluru Chennai Flight, IndiGo Reacts
Ironically, IndiGo airline is already embroiled in controversy and have headlined for various incidents on its flight by the passengers.
Now in a fresh incident a passenger on board the Bemgaluru-Chennai flight has spotted a screw in the sandwich served to him.
Taking to Reddit, u/MacaroonIll3601, he shared that a Spinach and Corn sandwich was served while the flight was en route from Bengaluru to Chennai on February 1. However, he did not eat it inside the plane amidst the journey. When he opened the packet later upon reaching his destination, he was shocked to find a screw in his food.
Much to his regret, when he contacted the airlines to demand an apology, they allegedly told him that his complaint was not eligible as he consumed the sandwich post-flight.
He also sought advice from fellow Redditors on how to address the issue with IndiGo
He has shared pictures of the half-eaten sandwich which was inside a wrap that had the IndiGo logo on social media.
Notedly, several Reddit users urged him to take legal action against the airline, while some asked him to complain to FSSAI about it.
Later, IndiGo released a press statement on the matter. I
It read, ”We are aware of the image circulating on social media with reference to a customer sharing their experience on flight 6E-904 operating between Bengaluru – Chennai on February 01, 2024. The issue was not reported by the passenger during the journey. Our in-flight meals are sourced from reputable and highly regarded caterers to maintain the highest standards of quality and hygiene. We regret the inconvenience caused to the passenger and remain committed to providing the best possible in-flight experience and ensuring compliance with all food and hygiene standards.
