But now news comes to the fore that Zanai Bhosle, grand-daughter of legendary singer Asha Bhosle gears up to
foray into her cinematic debut as wife of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Rani Sai Bhonsale in filmmaker Sandeep Ssingh’s, The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Asha Bhosle took to X (formerly twitter) and while announcing Zanai’s acting debut wrote
that she is truly ecstatic
to know of her lovely granddaughter Zanai Bhosle stepping into the acting arena with the upcoming grand epic The Pride of Bharat Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
She sincerely hopes that Zaina claims her destined position in cinematic history and wish her and Sandeep Ssingh all the very best.
Sandeep Ssingh too is overwhelmed in having on board Zanai in his project.
He added that he feels much honoured and privileged to be launching Zanai,.a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s family lineage and also shares her lineage with extremely brilliant and accomplished family, with the late Lata Mangeshkarji being her aunt and being Asha Bhosaleji’s granddaughter.
She is a proud Bhosle, who has already been gifted with a soulful voice and has an ear for music. But not many may be versed Zaina is a talented dancer and a skillful performer. He is confident that she will do full justice to the character of Rani Sai Bai.
He further went on to add that as Shivaji Maharaj’s wife, Rani Sai Bai had made immense contribution to his growth as a King and a human being.
The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is being produced on a massive scale and release theatrically on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on February 19, 2026.
Markedly, The film is Sandeep Singh’s theatrical directorial debut and is presented by Immerso Studio and Legend Studios.
