“Alpha” is next spy universe franchise from Yash Raj Films
‘Alpha’ is title of next spy universe franchise unveiled recently by Yash Raj Films, the first female-fronted installment in the studio’s successful spy universe franchise.
It features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as super agents and this is a clear take by YRF to highlight a societal misinterpretation that only men can be Alphas.
Shiv Rawail who debuted as a director with the studio’s hit 2023 Netflix series “The Railway Men” helms ‘Alpha’.
‘Alpha’ a creation by producer and YRF chairman and MD Aditya Chopra kicked-off with the Tiger franchise, featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, beginning with “Ek Tha Tiger” and “Tiger Zinda Hai” and continued with “War, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. “Pathaan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, was one of the biggest Indian hits of 2023, as was “Tiger 3.”
Next up in the universe are “War 2,” starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr., “Pathaan 2” and “Tiger vs Pathaan.”
Alia Bhatt has emerged as one of Bollywood’s leading actress since her debut with “Student of the Year”. She’s acknowledged for critically acclaimed performances in films like “Highway” “Raazi” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi” for which she was honoured with best actress award at India’s National Film Awards. Alia recently made her Hollywood debut with Netflix’s “Heart of Stone”. Her earlier ‘Red Alert’ was a big hit.
Coming to Sharvari, she is an upcoming talent in Bollywood and had made her debut with Prime Video series “The Forgotten Army” and her first film was “Bunty Aur Babli 2” . Her career is growing with film“Munjya” and Netflix global Top 10 succes“Maharaj” (2024).
