Farah Khan once ‘sobbed’ watching Salman dance, ‘took to the woods’ – he couldn’t dance

Ace Choreographer Farah Khan recounted when she literally gave up on Salman Khan’s dance moves.
Salman Khan is acknowledged for his on-screen attitude on and this has been the case ever since he embarked in his career in 1989 with Maine Pyar Kiya featuring Bhagyashree.
In his earlier days, Salman wasn’t as comfortable with dancing and while he has come a long way now, at least in terms of carrying the song with his personality, this wasn’t the case back then.
In an earlier conversation, Farah Khan shared that she was once given the task of teaching Salman some dance steps and after trying to teach him for four hours, she had to give it up since she observed he couldn’t dance.
In an episode of Super Dancer in 2019, Farah recalled that she was asked to teach Salman to dance for one of his first screen tests. Amidst one of the first screen test of Salman Khan, she was supposed to teach Salman to dance. And actually she ran away after four hours and sobbed that nobody can teach him to dance, as he doesn’t know at all. Farah acknowledged that when Salman was cast for Maine Pyar Kiya, she was actually “shocked”, because when she came to know the makers had selected him in the movie Maine Pyar Kiya and when she saw the movie was even more shocked to see how good he was in it.
Farah Khan later worked with Salman Khan in many of the star’s hit numbers. Farah further recounted that “Munni Badnaam Hui” from Dabangg was one of her favourite hook steps as Salman performed it really well with Malaika Arora and also spoke about his ‘towel step’ from “Jeene Ke Hai Chaar Din” from Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and shared that she came up with it on set. She also mentioned he only did the step once in that song towards the end as they had already shot the whole song by then.
Salman was one of the many stars who made a guest appearance in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om dance number “Deewangi Deewangi” and actually waited around on set so he could watch veteran actor Dharmendra perform.
