When Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan mocked Vidya Balan for her fashion sense and the actress said, ‘It was unfair because…’

Vidya Balan is acknowledged as one of the finest talents the entertainment industry is proud to have. However, amid 2007 and 2010, it was minimal on her film choices and more about her fashion choices, on-screen and off-screen. Back in 2008, Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan even presented her a Naariyal award for the clothes she wore in Heyy Babyy.

On the podcast Unfiltered with Samdish, the actress said, ā€œWhen they told her that they’re going to give her the Na-Real award, she said sans mincing wirdasaid ā€˜Why me? My clothes are not just choice, right?’

She further added, that at that time around, she was too new to opine on anything. So they said, ā€˜No, we’re just doing this fun segment so we’re going to give you this award.’ So she said, ā€˜Fine, but I’m going to share it with the costume designer and the director, and they said, ā€˜No, you mustn’t do that.’ And that, I think, is not nice.ā€

As per Vidya Balan in a media interaction said that ā€œNepotism or no nepotism, she is here. The film industry does not belong to anyone’s father, else every star kid would be successful.

She went on to add that she has been happy doing her own things. There were times when she felt like, ā€˜Maybe if she had the protection of certain people, they would have been a bit kinder in those phases.’ But in terms of opportunities, she doesn’t think anybody has been able to deny her share.

The actress will soon feature in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-featuring Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan. The horror comedy is an Anees Bazmee’s directorial.
