Now a fresh story from Vivek Oberoi makes an interesting reading. Amidst his year long stint in Southern India, where he had assisted in the relief efforts following the 2004 tsunami.At that time around, embroiled in personal and professional challenges Vivek recalled that his mother encouraged him to focus on helping others as a way to heal.
Over a media interaction with an entertainment News channel Vivek highlighted on his spiritual experiences amidst this period. He recalled visiting a famous temple in the region while staying among the survivors of the disaster.
Feeling mentally burdened, he was advised to visit the temple, which led to an memorable meeting with an elderly man. He revealed that the man was dressed simply in a dhoti with a white beard and spoke to Vivek in “highly polished English”, despite his humble appearance.
The mysterious man directed Vivek to sit next to him and remarked on his troubled state. He predicted that Vivek was on the verge of facing a significant financial loss but reassured him that his charitable work in the relief efforts would shield him from this fate. The man explained that this was part of his karma and that his good deeds would eventually bring rewards.
After following the man’s guidance, Vivek returned to the temple only to find that the elderly figure had disappeared. When he inquired with the temple staff, they claimed no such person had been there. Stunned by this, Vivek was left questioning whether the encounter had been real or merely a spiritual manifestation. He expressed that, regardless of the man’s physical presence, he considered the figure to be a divine presence, akin to God, whose words seemed to have had a profound impact on his life.

Vivek also shared how this experience may have influenced his later success, including his current work in the real estate business, where he is now involved in multi-crore deals. In the same interview, Vivek opened up about another incident where he went to the temple and while exiting, a man came up to him and alerted him about an alleged “child prostitution ring”. Upon investigation by the actor, he claimed to have discovered several girls kept as prisoners in a small room. He recalled feeling “a rage” and this experience pushed him to start a foundation.

Vivek’s business ventures ll flourished because of his strategic investments and diversification which has led the actor to build a highly profitable portfolio. Charging around Rs 3 to 4 crore per movie, Vivek’s net worth is reported to be an impressive Rs 1,200 crore as of 2024. His business acumen includes early investments in real estate through the foundation of Karrm Infrastructure. He also co-founded Mega Entertainment, an event management company, and Svarnim University.
