King’s Circle Rail Bridge collapses after bus scrapes its underside
In a weird incident, a part of King’s Circle Railway Bridge collapsed on Wednesday after bus scrapes its underside.
No injuries have been reported, and the bridge did not sustain any structural damage.
It caused massive disruption to traffic.
No injuries were reported, but it caused considerable traffic congestion, blocking the flyover towards the Dadar side for a few hours.
The incident damaged the air conditioning unit of the bus and led to a gas leak. According to reports, the bridge did not sustain any structural damage.
It is worth noting that this was not the first incident at the bridge. Back in August 2022, a ZDM 3-class diesel Loco hit the King’s Circle Bridge. The incident did not cause any damage to the bridge, but the loco was damaged.
Earlier in February 2020, a small section of the bridge dislocated after a speeding car dashed over it.
It took place amidst peak hours when commuters rushed to their workplaces. The timings coincided with the train times of Harbour Line local trains that travel through the same bridge.
