RK Studio that stood tall in Chembur was once an iconic symbol of Indian cinema for over six decades.

Founded by Raj Kapoor snowman of Indian cinema, the studio was a witness to the golden era of Bollywood .

The Early Years:
In 1948, Raj Kapoor acquired a 2-acre plot in Chembur, Mumbai, for ₹3 lakhs This marked the beginning of R.K. Films, a production company that would go on to produce iconic films like “Aag” (1948) and “Barsaat” (1949)

The 1950s-1970s are often referred to as the golden era of R.K. Films Amidst this period, the studio produced timeless classics like “Awaara” (1951), “Shree 420” (1955), “Mera Naam Joker” (1970), and “Bobby” (1973) 🎬.

These films cemented Raj Kapoor’s status as a visionary filmmaker and was a witness to the launch of the careers of legendary actors like Nargis, Prithviraj Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor.
