DCP Narcotics Datta Nalawde : Nigerian caught with 39 lakhs worth MD-drug and ecstacy pills from Andheri

Mumbai Police DCP Narcotics Datta Nalawde informed that a Nigerian has been caught with 39 lakhs worth MD-drug and ecstacy pills from Andheri- S V Rd. Case has been registered 89/2021 under various sections of the NDPS act. 130 gram of Mephedrone and 278 pills of ecstacy – MDMA was recovered from him. ANC-Anti Narcotics cell Bandra effected the operations.
The Nigerian named Omabe Ekwechekvu Augustine, residing at Nalasopara was detained outside Hotel Sara Inn, Ambika saw Mill compound, S.V Rd, Andheri, Mumbai. Information was received by Inspector Powle of the Bandra Unit of ANC. Then under the leadership of Sr PI Sanjay Chavan and other officers namely Wahid Pathan of the Anti Narcotics ce;;- Bandra Unit trap was laid and the Nigerian arrested.
Ecstasy (MDMA, 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine) is a synthetic, psychoactive drug chemically similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. It is an illegal drug that acts as both a stimulant and psychedelic, producing an energizing effect, as well as distortions in time and perception and enhanced enjoyment from tactile experiences.
