Jitendra Awhad: BDD chawl commitment fulfilled, Tenants will pay only Rs 1000 stamp duty
Housing Minister Dr Jitendra Awhad said, “We have fulfilled our commitment, now all tenants will pay only Rs 1000 as Stamp Duty per tenament in #BDD chawl. The Housing Minister has taken the BDD Chawl re-development on war footing. With maximum benefits to the residents of BDD Chawl. Government notification to that affect was released.
Earlier he had announced benefits on Schools wherein Class of 160 square feet would be given 500 square feet. Then in a meeting with NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar, it was decided that to provide necessary space to schools affected by redevelopment of BDD Chawls. it was decided to take equal steps with the redevelopment of BDD Chawl to provide equal justice and opportunities to the deprived students and also to take positive steps for the redevelopment of Maratha Mandir Trust and Mumbai Municipal Corporation schools.
In that meeting held , which was chaired by NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar , attended by Aaditya Thackeray and Housing Minister, it was decided As education is a social responsibility of the government and it is a question of education of the weaker sections of the students, the issue of redevelopment should be taken up as a priority, he assured cooperation.
