After opening of Kurla Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in 1991, now comes city’s first full-fledged Jogeshwari Terminus. expected to open by October or November 2025.

Eventually, Mumbai is getting a brand-new railway terminus after more than 30 years.
The Jogeshwari Terminus is expected to ease the pressure on overcrowded terminals like Bandra, Dadar, and Mumbai Central.

The new terminus is being developed near Ram Mandir suburban station, with direct access to the Western Express Highway and close proximity (just 500 metres) to the nearest Metro station. It’s also being built at a cost of Rs 76.84 crore.

It’s learnt that there would be three platforms.
One island and one home platform, each 600 metres long.
Phase 1 will see Platforms 2 and 3 become operational; Platform 1 will come later.
Can handle 24-coach trains.
12 mail/express trains expected to operate daily.
Two berthing lines for parking and one line for shunting trains.
Train watering facilities will allow quick turnaround without heavy maintenance.

The terminus aims to be passenger-friendly with a Ground+3 station building that includes:
VIP and general AC waiting lounges with showers, toilets, charging points, and pantry.
4 AC and 4 non-AC double-bed retiring rooms.
Gender-specific dormitories with 6 beds each.
A food plaza, entertainment zone, and even a rest area for 50 licensed porters.
The terminus will also include:
A dedicated pickup and drop area for taxis, Ola/Uber, and autos.
VIP parking bays and EV charging points.
A 6-metre-wide foot overbridge connecting to Ram Mandir station, complete with lifts and escalators.

Another 12-metre-wide foot overbridge will connect all three platforms within the terminus.
