Karnataka bans all film releases of Kamal Haasan in Karnataka
It’s learned that the Karnataka Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi has called for a total ban of films featuring Kamal Haasan for his refusal to tender am apology
for his remarks on Kannada. This has been decided by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC).
Reportedly Kamal is facing backlash over his remark on Kannada amidst the promotions of his upcoming film, Thug Life.
Meanwhile, as per KFCC president M Narasimhalu, exhibitors and distributors themselves have voluntarily decided not to screen his movie if he doesn’t apologise.
The actor-filmmaker and politician’s recent statement claiming that “Kannada was born out of Tamil” during a promotional event for his upcoming film has sparked widespread outrage among pro-Kannada groups and cultural organisations.
