PM Modi’s Ghana visit turns historic-first visit by an Indian PM
The Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama accorded a warm to PM Modi as he landed at Ghana’s presidential palace, Jubilee House, amidst a two-day official visit, in Accra, Ghana.
On Wednesday PM held a bilateral meeting with the Ghanaian President John Mahama, amidst which the two leaders upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive partnership. He showcased the significant potential for collaboration in key areas such as critical minerals, defence, maritime security, and energy.
Taking to his official X, account, PM Modi wrote that “India and Ghana also see immense scope in working closely in areas such as critical minerals, defence, maritime security and energy. Enhancing cultural linkages was also talked about.”
Reportedly, India and Ghana inked four Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Wednesday to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas such as culture, health, standardisation, and institutional dialogue.
