Aamir visits Raj Thackerayover directives issued to nephewImran to leave india

Renowned actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan visited Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray at his residence, Shivtirth, in Dadar on Sunday evening. The high-profile meeting has generated considerable public interest and political speculation, occurring just days after Aamir Khans nephew, actor Imran Khan, received a formal notice directing him to leave India.
Imran Khan, who is a United States citizen holding an Overseas Citizen of India card, is currently locked in a legal battle against a Leave India Notice issued by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office and Mumbai Police.

The directive instructs him to exit the country by October 28, 2026, following his brief detention during a political demonstration at August Kranti Maidan on October 10. The protest, organized against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, was deemed a violation of immigration rules because non-citizens are legally barred from participating in domestic political agitations.
Imran Khan has since approached the Bombay High Court to challenge the order, labeling the sudden deportation directive as arbitrary and unconstitutional while seeking an immediate stay on the notice. Alongside the exit order, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office has issued a show-cause notice questioning why his Overseas Citizen of India status should not be permanently cancelled.

Despite the intense scrutiny surrounding the timing of the visit, representatives from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have downplayed any connection to the ongoing immigration dispute. A senior party functionary clarified that the meeting was purely personal, emphasizing that Aamir Khan and Raj Thackeray have maintained a warm, cordial relationship for many years and regularly meet for social and family occasions. Neither Aamir Khan nor Raj Thackeray has issued an official statement regarding the specific contents of their dialogue.
