Lake levels in seven reservoirs surge to 67.88 per cent

It comes as a big news that there is a surge of 67.88 per cent in the seven reservoirs supplying water to the city of dreams and the financial hub

According to the data of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) the total water stock in the seven lakes supplying water to Mumbai reached 982,413 million litres on Monday. This is 67.88 per cent of the total required stock for the season.

This marks a significant rise from the previous day, with Middle Vaitarna recording the highest 24-hour increase of 5.31 metres, contributing 168,801 ML

Modak Sagar and Bhatsa showed substantial surge of 1.85 m and 2.50 m, respectively. Among all the lakes, Modak Sagar holds the highest percentage of live storage at 87.03 per cent, while Upper Vaitarna stands at 73.18 per cent. The city received 44 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours, with the total rainfall now standing at 674 mm
