Lake levels in seven reservoirs supplying water to the city at 80.96 per cent
The water levels in the seven lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai have risen following heavy rainfall in their catchment areas.
According to BMC, the combined stock in the seven reservoirs that provide water to the city now stands at 80.96 per cent.
BMC records on Thursday (July 17), states that the collective water stock in these reservoirs is 11,71,729 million litres, which amounts to 80.96 per cent of their total capacity.
The BMC supplies drinking water daily from Upper Vaitarna, Modak Sagar, Tansa, Middle Vaitarna, Bhatsa, Vihar, and Tulsi lakes.
Of these, Tansa has 90.37 per cent water stock, Modak Sagar 100 per cent, Middle Vaitarna 91.87 per cent, Upper Vaitarna 76.42 per cent, Bhatsa 75.53 per cent, Vehar 52.58 per cent and Tulsi 53.14 per cent.
