Kamlesh Rai former Corporator lands in police net in extortion case
Kamlesh Rai, former Shiv Sena Corporator landed in police net on was Friday for his alleged collection of extortion amount of
Rs 5 lakh from a builder in Andheri .
As per an official he had allegedly demanded Rs 50 lakh extortion from the builder whose project is underway in Andheri MIDC area. The builder had registered an extortion case with MIDC police station.
The official further added that after negotiation, the amount was settled at Rs 35 lakh, and Rs 8 lakh was initially paid to the said former corporator. He had gone to collect another installment of Rs 5 lakh from the builder and was caught red-handed while collecting the extortion amount. Further investigation in the case is underway.
