Meet Anjana Krishna IPS officer- stood firm in Solapur anti-mining crackdown
Anjana, the 2022-batch IPS officer, presently Sub-Division Police Officer, Karmala in Solapur district of Maharashtra, grew up in a modest household in Thiruvananthapuram

for her bold actions in an anti-mining operation that sparked a controversy involving Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The 2022-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, presently
Sub-Division Police Officer, Karmala in Solapur district of Maharashtra, grew up in a modest household.
Her father, V.S. Viju, runs a cloth business, while her mother,
L. Seena, works as an Upper Division typist at the Vanchiyoor District Court in Thiruvananthapuram.
After completion of her schooling at St Mary’s Central School at Poojappura, she pursueda BSC degree in Mathematics from NSS College for Women at Neeramankara.
Determined to join the Indian Police Service, Anjana Krishna appeared for the 2022-23 UPSC Civil Services Examination and secured the 355th rank.
She opted to write the exam in English, with Malayalam Literature as her optional subject.
