Shared Screen with all top heroines
It’s a well-known fact that in contemporary cinema, roles for women often seem confined to glamorous appearances and catchy song sequences. But it wasn’t always like this. Once, heroines enjoyed almost equal screen time and significance alongside the heroes.
Bygone days, leading ladies were in short supply, making each one a prized presence on screen. Fast forward to now, and the industry is flooded with fresh faces; so many, in fact, that keeping track of who’s starring where often means a quick Google search.
Just a decade ago, Tollywood’s heroines were household names — stars like Ileana D’Cruz, Nayanthara, Trisha, Kajal Aggarwal, Shriya Saran, and Anushka Shetty dominated the scene. Soon after, actresses like Shruti Haasan, Rakul Preet Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Anupama Parameswaran, Raashi Khanna, Rashmika Mandanna, and others rose to prominence. And among all these leading ladies, there’s one hero who stands out, the one actor who has shared the screen with nearly every top heroine of Tollywood. That star is none other than the ‘Mass Maharaja’, Ravi Teja.
While Ravi Teja’s career graph has seen a dip in recent times, there was a period when nearly everything he touched turned to gold. While his films may not have broken records on an epic scale, producers rarely faced losses. Audiences simply loved his style and energy.
Ravi Teja has shared screen space with all the aforementioned leading ladies. With Anushka Shetty, he starred in Vikramarkudu (a massive blockbuster) and Baladoor (a box office flop). With Nayanthara, he did Dubai Seenu (a commercial hit) and Anjaneyulu (an average performer). With Shriya Saran, he appeared in Bhageeratha, directed by Rasool Ellore (a commercial failure).
With Trisha, he delivered the hit film Krishna, directed by V.V. Vinayak.
He acted in two films with Kajal Aggarwal — Sarocharu and Veera. Unfortunately, both films underperformed, with Sarocharu being a complete flop.
With Shruti Haasan, he did Balupu and Krack, both directed by Gopichand Malineni and both box office successes.
Raashi Khanna co-starred with him in Touch Chesi Chudu (a flop) and Bengal Tiger (a hit). Tamannaah also featured alongside him in Bengal Tiger. With Anupama Parameswaran, he did Eagle, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, which was an average success.
He paired with Rakul Preet Singh in Kick 2, directed by Surender Reddy, a film that received decent reviews but failed commercially.
Through these collaborations, Ravi Teja has worked with nearly all of Tollywood’s leading ladies over the past two decades — a feat few actors can claim.
