Renowned filmmaker Rishab Shetty, Kantara fame, recently opened up that he once went to Amitabh Bachchan’s house to cast him in a film.
Rishab Shetty, as of now is riding high on the unprecedented success of Kantara Chapter 1, which has continued its impressive run into the third week and is inching closer to the highest-grossing film of the year. The film has raked around Rs 547 crores and needs about 50 crore to emerge as the biggest hit of the year. As the film gains momentum across the country, Rishab Shetty recently made an appearance on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, where he had the opportunity to meet and interact with one of his long-time screen idols, Amitabh Bachchan.
In the midst of the episode, Rishab Shetty fondly recalled an earlier attempt to meet the legendary actor amidst his struggling days saying that he had actually come to meet before as well. He told the senior Bachchan that he was at his house with a film of mine called Sarkari Hi. Pra. Shaale, Kasaragodu, Koduge: Ramanna Rai. It was a children’s film featuring Anant Nag ji. That film went on to win the National Award for Best Children’s Film. I had come to discuss a possible Hindi adaptation with you. Unfortunately, he couldn’t meet AB that day, but did meet Jaya Bachchan from a distance and well remembered being mesmerized by the room full of his Bachchan.
