Arresting a sitting Chief Minister is not an easy task, but D Roopa did her job and demonstrated her courage in the line of duty, and upheld the rule of law.Roopa is also quite active on social media, where she shares her experiences and pictures.Notedly, she once arrested former minister Yavagal and initiated disciplinary action against Deputy Superintendent Masooti for unauthorized contact with him. According to the media reports, she has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Karnataka Silk Marketing Board Limited. a sitting Chief Minister. This first-ever act sent shock waves and anxiety through the political and administrative system that day, and showed her unbridled commitment to justice. Hailing from Karnataka, Roopa Diwakar Moudgil finished her studies and higher studies in Karnataka. According to the media reports, Roopa graduated from Kuvempu University, where she excelled academically.

Shortly after finishing her studies in college, Roopa sat for the Civil Services Examination. She succeeded in the UPSC exam in 2000 when she received an All India Rank(AIR) of 43. Following her selection, she opted for the Indian Police Service (IPS) and underwent rigorous police training. It is reported that she secured the fifth rank during training.
