Yami Gautam ripostes
to Deepika Padukone’s 8-hour shift demand
Actress Yami Gautam Gautam has supports Deepika Padukone’s
8-hour shift demand. She says it has been ‘happening for decades.’
Amidst her recent media interaction Yami opened up that the film industry works differently as much as people would like a time limit.
As per Yami whether a woman is “working or a homemaker, every mother is special and does everything she can for her child.” To begin with, once a mother, always a mother. Notwithstanding whether you are employed or a stay-at-home parent, every mother is priceless and does everything possible for her child. No one holds more importance to a mother than her child. Regarding her profession, the manner in which she selects her scripts is entirely separate from her personal life.
But Yami added that while they as actors may desire a time limit like in other professions, their industry operates differently. There are various factors, such as locations, permissions, and the involvement of other actors and technicians. Therefore, the idea of a time limit is quite subjective and relies on the collaboration and understanding between an actor, a producer, and a director.”
Recently, Deepika Padukone exited from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit due to her alleged demand for an eight-hour workday. A row emerged after that. Following this, she had to exit from Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2, too.
The actor wanted to work not more than eight hours a day during the shoot so that she could be with her daughter, Dua. However, her demands weren’t met, and she exited the film. Discussions continue to swirl around in the film industry, with many coming forward to voice their thoughts.
