
Actor Siddhant Chaturvedi will play the role as the legendary filmmaker V Shantaram in the upcoming announced biographical film on celebrated filmmaker
V Shantaram. Producer Kiran Shantaram dropped the ‘First-look poster of the film, titled V Shantaram and shared on social media pages. The caption read”The Rebel Who Redefined Indian Cinema Is Back Where He Belongs — On the Big Screen”.
Siddhant Chaturvedi amidst talking to the media said that taking on the role has been a significant responsibility and “Portraying V Shantaram ji is one of the greatest honours of his life. The more he read about his journey, the more humbled he felt. Shantaram ji wasn’t merely a pioneer of Indian and global cinema, he was a visionary who kept pushing forward no matter the obstacles. Stepping into his world has been Siddhanth’s transformative experience as an actor.
Over a statement Siddhant said that his moved him immensely reminded him of the power of perseverance. It’s a lesson he hopes to hold close, both in his work and in every moment of his life.
As per director Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, Shantaram’s work has shaped many aspects of Indian filmmaking and that bringing his story to the screen is a project he has long wanted to pursue. He added that Chaturvedi fit the part the team had envisioned.
The film will trace Shantaram’s career across major phases of Indian cinema – from the silent era to the introduction of sound and colour.
“V Shantaram” is a presentation by Rajkamal Entertainment, Camera Take Films and Roaring Rivers Productions, and produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhas Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde. “V Shantaram” is Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande’s written and directorial biopic.
