It comes as big news to bank employees with RBI’s new rule of
Bank New Rule
of five-day work.
Banks will now be closed every Saturday and Sunday.

For years, employees have been pressing their demand for Saturday and Sunday off and protests were held in many cities in this regard.

Beginning January 1, 2026 every Saturday and Sunday will be a holiday for banks. As of now, banks are only closed on 2nd and fourth saturdays and on Sundays. A recent report claimed that the government may soon announce a major decision on this issue in the coming days.

There will be no
two-day holidays. However, according to the government no such announcement has been made yet. Whenever it is made, the media and press will be informed first, and employees will be given a gift. However, it is quite possible that this announcement may be made in the coming days.
