With a career encompassing over three decades, Suniel Shetty has accomplished prominence not only as a versatile actor but as a man who has been guided by firm principles. The actor recently went on to share he turned down a ₹40 crore offer to endorse a tobacco product to set a positive example for his kids – Ahan and Athiya.
Expounding on his decision, Suniel shared how his personal beliefs and core values have influenced his perspective on life and career.
In an interview the actor mentioned that he made a conscious decision to never endorse tobacco products. Adding that
It’s something that he don’t believe in and won’t do anything that leaves a blemish on Ahan and Athiya. Now nobody even dares to approach him with such offers.
Suniel Shetty further went on to share on the passing away of his father, Veerappa Shetty, in 2017, which prompted him to take a break from the arc lights. Further adding that before passing away, dad was unwell from 2014, and Suniel was taking care of him.He wasn’t in a state of mind and had completely quit. And then he passed away.
The actor returned to face the arc lights after 6-7 years and found it challenging. The morning of his father’s death, he received an offer to do a health show. Suniel saw it as a calling, and then went back to acting and took up a few South films. When you take a gap of 6-7 years, you think that you don’t know your craft, that things have transformed, and that nobody knows you, everyone is new, so he wasn’t comfortable.
Suniel Shetty also shared details on his post that post pandemic
transformaton, he started looking at himself differently. He built himself, and started training, reading and doing so many other things. Then he thought he was confident about himself.that he thought he didn’t need validation from anyone he concluded.
The actor credited his fans and the media for keeping him relevant amidst then years when he wasn’t active in films.
