Farah entices Nushrratt for her portrayal in ‘Akelli’

Ace choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khah enticed actress Nushrratt Bharuccha when the actress recently made her appearance on ‘The Farah Khan Show’ where she spoke over her journey in the cinematic world. The episode unfolded in a warm, intimate setting and offered viewers a rare peek into her life backstage

Notedly, Nushrratt welcomed Farah Khan into her kitchen and cooked a traditional dish, Mutton Uppu Kari, amidst a blithsome cooking session. Simply dressed in a white T-shirt and denim, she kept things effortless and real. The conversation flowed easily amid food, memories and movies.

The mood turned out to be more discreet when Farah invited Nushrratt’s mother to join them. Asked over her favourite films, she promptly named
“Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety” and “Akelli” prompting smiles all around.

Akelli earns special praise from Farah Khan
as the very mention of Akelli sparked an instant reaction from Farah Khan, who openly lauded Nushrratt’s performance.

Farah while acknowledging the intensity of the role, said, “She did a fantastic job and were the only girl throughout the film; it was so intense that it made her blood pressure rise. The comment drew laughter while also underlining the emotional weight Nushrratt carried on screen.

About ‘Akelli’
Akelli stands out as one of the most demanding films of Nushrratt’s career. It tells the story of a young woman from Punjab who travels abroad for employment and is subsequently left trapped in a nightmarish situation with no way out. The film places her character in constant danger, relying heavily on emotional strength and survival instincts. With minimal external support on screen, Nushrratt carries the narrative largely on her own, revealing her character’s vulnerability and resilience.

Akelli is directed by Pranay Meshram directorial ‘Akelli” also features Amir Boutrous, Rajesh Jais and Tsahi Halevi.

Nushrratt Bharuccha is best acknowledged for her roles in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ and ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’. In recent years, she has gravitated towards more intense and layered performances in films like ‘Chhorii’, ‘Chhorii 2’ and ‘Akelli’.
