on Saturday.
Jemimah, leading DC for the first time following Meg Lanning’s move to UP Warriorz afore the season, expressed her zeal for the new role.
After winning the toss Jemimah said that
“Hundred per cent,
DY Patil is always special for her since she made her Test debut here, won her first World Cup and now leading Delhi for the first time on this ground
so it means a lot. She really enjoys leading. Interestingly, she has been captaining her state side since was 16, so those experiences help. Responsibility brings the best out of her and her team has taken a lot of pressure off her. She is aware they’ll back her no matter what, and that makes it a lot of fun. There’s some fresh energy in this group which she’s really excited about.
Laura Wolvaardt, Chinelle Henry, Marizanne Kapp, and Lizelle Lee are the overseas players for DC, while Nandini Sharma is making her debut.
MI, after their loss to RCB on Friday, made one change by bringing in Triveni Vasistha in place of Saika Ishaque.
