No ₹500 notes from ATM from March 2026?
A claim is in the air that the Reserve Bank of India will discontinue distribution of ₹500 from ATM with effect from March 2026
According to the fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau, the claim is fake and no such announcement was made by the RBI. The unit also said that
five-hundred-rupee notes are still legal tender and will continue to be in operation at ATM
