Reportedly the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa pair Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan are set to shoot a massive, high-energy Holi song for Anees Bazmee’s upcoming, yet-untitled film in the last week of March 2026.
Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, the song will feature 300-400 background dancers on a specially designed “mohalla-style” set with balconies and terraces. The film Dil Raju produced film is reportedly a remake of the Telugu hit Sankranthiki Vasthunam.

The project reunites the duo of actors with Bazmee, following their previous collaboration on ‘Thank You’, and promises a dose of laughter and lighthearted chaos. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, Bazmee intends to highlight both actors’ distinct comic talents: Akshay’s sharp timing, coupled with Vidya’s playful humour seen earlier in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. Packed with situational comedy and trademark Bazmee-style fun, the film is expected to be a full-fledged entertainer.
Amidst a conversation in early 2024, Anees revealed the thought process behind casting Vidya once again. The filmmaker shared, he always felt that if anyone should play Manjulika, it should be Vidya ji, because she received so much love in that film.” Acknowledged for his close and friendly bond with the actress, Bazmee said that Vidya instantly connected with the story. The actress expressed, “Out of all the stories she has heard, there is only one story that she really like.” Bazmee recalled being completely drawn in within the first ten minutes of the narration and immediately decided to take up the role.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen in Priyadarshan directorial horror-comedy film ‘Bhooth Bangla’. The film mixes fun comedy with horror in a style that has worked well in many Hindi films. The story is set in an old, mysterious mansion and follows a group of people who get caught in strange and supernatural events.
