A.R. Rahman will compose music for Mani Ratnam’s next directorial project.
This confirmation puts to rest to speculation that a different composer was in consideration.
The upcoming film, currently referred to as “Production No. 23”, is a romantic drama headlined by Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi.
Notably this marks 19th time the legendary director-composer duo has joined forces an alliance that began with Roja released in 1992.
Produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, filming is expected to
kick-off in summer 2026. This reunion amidst Mani Ratnam and Vijay Sethupathi comes after their 2018 film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
The announcement was made via an official joint statement from the producers, confirming the “Mani Ratnam film, AR Rahman musical” tag.
