Indian Cinema’s Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar immortalised song “Ehsaan Tera Hoga Mujh Par”, originally sung by Mohammed Rafi for the 1961 Shammi Kapoor film Junglee.
Although Rafi’s male version is iconic, the female version sung by Lata Mangeshkar added a soft, emotional perspective that emerged equally famous.
The film featured Shammi Kapoor and Saira Banu in the lead with music composed by Shankar-Jaikishan from lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri
Other famous Shammi Kapoor songs with dual versions or versions by both Lata and Rafi include “Dil Tera Diwana Hai Sanam” and “Aawaz Deke Humein Tum Bulao”.
