Veteran filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film ‘Golmaal 5’ will break from franchise tradition by featuring no romantic subplot for its main character.
Instead of a love story, the film is focusing purely on comedy, marking a significant shift in the 20-year history of the series. Although actress Priyamani has joined the ensemble cast, insiders confirm her role is strictly non-romantic and she will not be paired with Ajay Devgn.
The movie sees the return of familiar faces, including Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, and Tusshar Kapoor.
Sharman Joshi, who featured in the original 2006 Golmaal, returns to the franchise.
Akshay Kumar has joined the cast in a villainous role.
Meanwhile, the film is eyeing a theatrical release in early 2027.
While Sjarman Joshi was a part of the first film, he did not join the instalments. Many reports claimed that he had hiked his fees, which didn’t go down well with the producers.
