Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has shot a special cameo in Mira Nair’s upcoming biographical film, Amri, based on the life of legendary painter Amrita Sher-Gil. The film, being shot in Punjab, features Tanya Maniktala in the titular role of Amrita Sher-Gil.
Amri is an experimental portrait of the Hungarian-Indian painter, focusing on her life amid 1915 and 1941. It’s expected to portray her artistic journey across Europe and India.
The film is Mira Nair’s directorial. Earlier she worked with Maniktala on
A Suitable Boy.
While Tanya Maniktala plays the lead, Tabu is also reported to be in talks for an extended cameo, making it a highly anticipated project.
